Exhibition Angela Melitopoulos. Cine(so)matrix.

Audiovisual

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía

2023

Cine(so)matrix offers a journey through more than two decades of Angela Melitopoulos’s work, highlighting her use of video as a tool to activate memories, perceptions, and collective experiences. The exhibition brings together installations and essayistic films that explore the technological and historical conditions shaping our cinematic relationship with the world.

The project includes key works and the development of Matri-Linear B, which connects prehistoric imaginaries with contemporaneity to question patriarchal and colonial models. Through her “chronolandscapes,” Melitopoulos articulates connections between territory, consciousness, and time, proposing an expanded cinema that thinks through images and their capacity to generate new forms of perception.

Work carried out: audiovisual programming and installation, equipment rental.

Photographs: José Luis de la Parra.
