The renewal of LED lighting systems in museums cannot, in most cases, be undertaken comprehensively due to budgetary constraints. However, the previous work carried out in the Apostolate Room of the Museo del Greco in Toledo demonstrated that a gradual and well-planned integration of this technology is possible. When used correctly, it offers three major advantages: it improves the balance between photochemical action and conservation requirements; it ensures the stability of the installed lighting thanks to the long lifespan of these light sources; and, due to their high efficiency, it advances the implementation of environmental sustainability policies.

On this occasion, the intervention was carried out in the Luis Tristán y Seguidores rooms, where the opportunity was taken to correctly reposition the electrified track system—an essential step to ensure the absence of glare or frame shadows on the artworks and to renew the indirect lighting. The installed fixtures are 6W, with regulated output to achieve illuminance levels of 150 lux on the artworks.
