The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage of the Government of Madrid, the Aranjuez Paisaje Cultural Foundation and the Aranjuez City Council, with the aim of managing funds in the best possible way to improve the ornamental lighting of the city, commissioned the Master Plan to help choose the lighting to be installed.

Aranjuez is home to one of the main National Heritage sites, as well as other buildings of architectural and historical interest distributed around the city. The plan defines several areas of action and offers a possible interpretation whose central axis is the palace complex, without detracting from the enhancement of the rest of the sites and monuments of interest.
