Mario Merz monographic exhibition. Time is mute.

Installation of Cultural Assets

Palacio de Velázquez – Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofía

2020

Retrospective exhibition dedicated to Mario Merz that traces his work characterised by artistic militancy.

The Velázquez Palace hosted this monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the main representatives of Italian Arte Povera. Here it was possible to enjoy an extensive selection of works found on the margins of art, generated in full opposition to the mercantilist society of the post-industrial era. The museography aimed to create a dystopian space that explored the nomadic idea that runs through all his poetics and called for alternative models of a life in coexistence with nature, making use of primitivism as an active critique of capitalism.

Work carried out: Production and assembly of museography. Handling and Installation of Cultural Assets.

Photographs: José Luis de la Parra.
