100 Years of the Madrid metro. A century in movement

Museographic Desing

Metro de Madrid (Madrid)

2019

The museographic project that commemorated the first centenary of the Madrid Metro aimed to give visitors a closer insight into the past, present and future of the company. It was based on total respect for the architecture of the Nave de Motores (Engine Shed), enhancing the factory atmosphere and recreating the old functioning of the preserved machinery.

An industrial design was devised, respecting the environment, which served as a context for the various original parts of the Engine Shed, giving an account of the history of the Madrid Metro by means of various exhibits and audiovisual elements. As a scenic resource, the commissioning of the old turbines was recreated by means of a dynamic LED programme. For the first time, we offered a visit to the basement of the building, where we projected two immersive artistic installations.

Work carried out: Museographic design, graphic design, lighting design, audiovisual design. Technical Direction. Production and assembly.
